Black Dragonfly Events, formerly Blake J Events, was founded in 2019 by Blake J. Teaming up with Andy T, they share a passion for Rhode Island's arts scene. Offering both planning and design services, we're here to make your event unforgettable, whether from start to finish or just on the big day.

Blake- Founder, Co-owner

Blake J is a Rhode Island native, born and raised in Providence. She was an event consultant for many years prior to starting Black Dragonfly Events and currently, when not event planning, helps small businesses with their legal needs as a transactional business and creative attorney at Sheehan & Associates Law.

Blake has a strong passion for the arts and creativity as well as helping her community and giving back to the state she calls home. Providence is said to be the Creative Capital of New England and Blake wants to ensure that this little big city lives up to that name.

Andy- Co-owner, Director of marketing

Andy T was born in New Jersey, but his family moved to Rhode Island when he was around 4 years old, so he’s pretty much Rhode Island bred and a Rhode Island guy. He’s a guy with a passion for highlighting art and creativity. Aside from being an event planner, he is an actor, both on stage and on film and when he isn’t event planning he is spending time getting ready for his next role.
